ABOUT
WE are
LABORERS' LOCAL UNION 1010
We are the premier Paving and Road Building Union of New York City. We have worked together to build streets, bridges and highways throughout the five boroughs of NYC.
OUR HISTORY
Laborers’ Local 1010 was chartered by the Laborers’ International Union of North America in 1937. For over eighty years, we have been one of the primary forces on New York City’s largest and most recognizable road-building and highway projects.
In 2008, Local 1018, our sister Local Union in the same Pavers and Road Builders District Council merged into Local 1010 with their vast experience and expertise in asphalt, paving and finishing. Currently numbering at over 2,500, Local 1010 members continue to perform work with their unique skill set on virtually every road, street, highway and boulevard in New York City.
OUR SKILL SET
Whether it’s road finishing, asphalt milling and paving, removal, formsetting, and finishing of sidewalks and curbs, installation of all types of paving blocks, specialty surfaces, or playground equipment, the members of Local 1010 are on the job performing in a professional, safe, effective and productive manner.
Our signatory contractors also work in NYC schools, parks, athletic fields and playgrounds, and are always on the cutting edge of technology, finding the most cost effective ways to complete a job on time and on budget. The Laborers' Local 1010 Apprentice, Skill Improvement & Training Fund ensures that all our members are New York State and New York City OSHA-certified.
