The Local 1010 Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (1010 LECET) brings Laborers’ Local 1010 and its signatory contractors together to address issues of importance to both.
Laborers and our employers share a lot of common ground. Working as a team, we secure projects and jobs, increase union-sector market share, advertise our services, develop a workforce, and advance shared market-related interests. 1010 LECET works closely with leading industry organizations on issues of importance to our industry such as transportation funding, market-related legislation, marketing strategies, and workforce development.
Projects & Jobs
1010 LECET’s most important mission is helping Laborers’ Local 1010 and the contractors with whom we work win projects and jobs. While Laborers are working hard on current projects, 1010 LECET is hard at work identifying future project and job opportunities.
Promoting the Union Sector
Laborers are proud of our work on structures and projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. 1010 LECET promotes the image of Local 1010 members with one simple message: being a Laborer means being devoted to quality, training, and safety.
Staying Prepared in Changing Technology
Construction is constantly changing, and 1010 LECET helps Local 1010 members and our signatory contractors stay current. 1010 LECET looks down the road to determine where the industry is going, and what Laborers and our contractors will need to do to stay out in front. The Training Fund uses 1010 LECET’s market analysis as it develops training programs that keep our members up to date and safe on the job.
A Voice in the Halls of Power
Every day, elected officials and government regulators make decisions that can directly affect construction in general and/or specific projects. 1010 LECET works with industry groups and coalitions to make sure key policy makers hear a labor-management voice on issues of concern to the entire industry. 1010 LECET is a key player in many market-related legislative and regulatory efforts.
